Jakarta (20/04) — Chairman of the PKS faction Jazuli Juwaini is deeply disappointed and regrets the attitude of the United States (US) in vetoing the draft resolution on full recognition of Palestine’s membership in the UN (19/4/2024). Full Palestinian membership is a path to a peaceful two-state solution that has been touted by the US.
“The PKS faction, Indonesia and other countries that support Palestine’s full membership in the UN are very disappointed with the US attitude. Even though 12 other countries that are members of the UN Security Council agree with the resolution for full Palestinian membership.
Members of Commission I of the DPR said that the US veto would hinder efforts to create a new world order that is just, peaceful, safe and peaceful. The US attitude does not support peace at all on the basis of the “two state solution” that it has been narrating.
“We all want to create a world that is justice, peaceful, safe and peaceful without war and colonialism. Our current priority is to save human lives. So that there will be no more violence, cruelty and colonialism against humanity, one of which is in Palestine,” he explained.
The Vice President of the World Muslim Parliamentary Forum (IIFP) encouraged UN Member States who still have a conscience to continue to urge, pressure and increase lobbying and diplomacy so that the atrocities occurring in Palestine can be stopped immediately.
The PKS faction appreciates the firm and consistent stance of the Indonesian Government, especially the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in supporting Palestinian independence. PKS hopes that the government will play a more active role in proposing and gathering support and a permanent resolution for Palestinian peace at the UN and countries in the world.
“Stop aggression, stop colonization, stop genocide over the last 6 months which has killed more than 33 thousand Palestinians, most of whom were children, women and the elderly. We don’t want any more humanitarian tragedy in Palestine,” concluded Jazuli.
